Title: Enterprise Officer
Location: Basankusa, DRC
Description: The purpose of this position is to play a key role in the development and management of a Conservation Enterprise Program as a key mechanism for the design and delivery of innovative approaches and services to strengthen conservation enterprises into Maringa-Lopori-Wamba Heartland for maximum conservation and development impact. The enterprise officer in collaboration with the Senior Director, Conservation Enterprise for AWF will develop and implement an economically sound and sustainable strategy to support access to the urban market for the communities involved in the SOIL-program (axe Mompono-Lingomo-Djolu, Equateur Province, SOIL/CARPE).

Title: TBNRM/Advocacy Coordinator, International Gorilla Conservation Programme

Description: The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), an international conservation organization, invites applications for the post of TBNRM/Advocacy Coordinator for International Gorilla conservation Programme (IGCP), a coalition of AWF, Flora and Fauna International, and the World Wide Fund for Nature. The primary purpose of this position will be to support the IGCP programme in building specialized capacity for the Protected Area Authorities through the executive secretariat and at the protected area level, to develop and coordinate implementation of the IGCP advocacy for gorilla conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources across the region.

Charlotte Conservation Fellows
Since 1996, the African Wildlife Foundation has provided educational grants
to African pursuing advanced degree studies in conservation-related fields through its
Charlotte Conservation Fellowship Program. The application process for the Charlotte Fellowship 2009-2010 class is open through July 31, 2009.

Internship Program
AWF periodically has openings for interns in our Washington, DC office to assist in our Communications, Development, Program, Membership, Finance, Human Resources and Administration departments. AWF provides a platform for interns to expand their knowledge of African conservation issues, apply academic knowledge in real life situations, and learn new skills that will enhance their careers.
Interns have the flexibility to work up to a maximum of 40 hours depending on the organization’s needs and the students’ schedule.
Currently internships are open to students based in the USA.
