Communications Officer (IGCP)
The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), an international conservation organization headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, invites applications for the post of Communications Officer for the International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP), who will partner with IGCP staff to create and manage communications and media activities. The International Gorilla Conservation Programme is a coalition of African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), Fauna & Flora International (FFI) and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and it works in Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo to ensure the long-term survival of the endangered Mountain Gorilla and its afromontane habitat. This position reports to the IGCP Director and will be based in Kigali, Rwanda with regular travel to field offices and projects in Rwanda, Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Senior Programme Design
Officer
AWF is recruiting a Senior Programme Design Officer to generate funding from public sector
sources for AWF’s programme in eastern Africa, to be based at either at AWF’s Headquarters in
Nairobi, Kenya or its field office in Arusha, Tanzania. The Senior PD Officer leads on fundraising
from government and professional foundation donors for AWF’s work in priority landscapes (known
as Heartlands in AWF) in Kenya and Tanzania, and supports fundraising for AWF’s work in
Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This position will work very closely with
the Director of Programme Design, the Programme Design Officer for eastern Africa and other
members of the AWF’s programme design team, field-based program teams, cross-site technical
program staff and AWF’s finance and administration staff. The person hired will have excellent
written and oral communication skills, appropriate technical and fundraising experience and a sound level of knowledge of contemporary conservation and development issues in Africa.

Charlotte Conservation Fellowship Program.

Internship Program
AWF periodically has openings for interns in our Washington, DC office to assist in our Communications, Development, Program, Membership, Finance, Human Resources and Administration departments. AWF provides a platform for interns to expand their knowledge of African conservation issues, apply academic knowledge in real life situations, and learn new skills that will enhance their careers.
Interns have the flexibility to work up to a maximum of 40 hours depending on the organization’s needs and the students’ schedule.
Currently internships are open to students based in the USA.
